I service grades K-5 in the academic area of mathematics…but often provide services pertaining to other academic areas and to address various student weaknesses. Please see the list of rules/laws below to see how I will assess and fairly use resources and materials based on copyright rules during my classroom sessions. In addition, I have provided some essential links and a video below to address any questions related to the areas of copyright and fair use for your perusing and viewing.

- Internet resources will be provided and shared often with students. Please note that any information shared with students will be legally downloaded and/or uploaded. In addition, resources will only be shared through our countywide, password protected site.
- Please note that students will be expected to complete projects over the course of the academic year. Copyright rules will be taught and shared with students prior to project assignments and completion dates. Please be advised that students must select and utilize resources legally and responsibly. In addition, videos and music must be legal versions and shared for educational purposes only. Please note that musical portions of a project must not exceed 30 seconds. Reflection
Copyright and fair use rules are essential…especially in the area of education where resources have to be utilized and implemented so frequently in order to best meet the learning needs of students. I found this experience to be extremely beneficial in giving me essential information and specific details necessary to make wise and legal educational choices for my students and their instruction. I still have a few questions to research regarding this important topic. Please see my inquiries below.

- Are teachers only allowed to provide one printed copy of a resource material per student…even if the original copy is lost and/or misplaced?
- Videos are not allowed to be used as a reward in the classroom. So does this mean, no movie days and/or incentive programs can utilize videos?
